Geography

Today we had been done a presentation(group 3) and in that our friends done a great and also in that time we had made our class fun and interest. By asking questions and answers.

Today we had learned about natural vegetations and it's types, from that we learned desert vegetations and tundra vegetations and also with types and examples.

So I learned that sahara desert is hottest desert in our country so in desert, in day time the weather will be very hot and in night time the temperature is very cold. And tundra vegetations are usually found in arctic regions.

Settlement patterns

There are 5 types of settlement patterns namely, Linear pattern, dispersed pattern, nucleated pattern, circular pattern, and terraced pattern.

If I were to choose the settlement pattern to live, i would choose Linear pattern because, we will get easy Transportation and Communication, Efficient Land Use, Access to Resources, Good for Trade and Commerce and Simplified Infrastructure Development.

Hazard and Disaster

A hazard is any thing or situation that has the potential to cause harm, damage, injury, or adverse effects to people, property, or the environment.

For example:

  • Natural hazards like earthquakes, floods, or hurricanes

  • Human-made hazards like chemical spills or industrial accidents

A disaster is a sudden, serious event that causes significant harm, damage, or disruption to people, property, or the environment, often overwhelming the ability of the affected community to cope using its own resources.

Disaster Management

Disaster Management is the way we prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters to reduce their impact on people and property.

It has four main stages:

  1. Mitigation
Actions taken to stop a disaster or reduce its impact before it happens.
Example: Building dams to prevent floods.

  2. Preparedness
Getting ready for a disaster by planning, training, and educating people.
Example: Practicing fire drills in schools.

  3. Response
What we do during and immediately after a disaster to help people and reduce damage.
Example: Rescue operations and providing emergency aid.

  4. Recovery
Actions to restore normal life after a disaster, like rebuilding homes and helping communities.
    Example: Repairing roads and schools.
