Reading Week(Day 1)
Reading Week is a special time celebrated in schools to encourage students to read more books and develop the habit of reading. It is usually observed in the first week of September in Bhutan. During this week, teachers, parents, and students come together to highlight the importance of reading in our daily lives. Reading not only improves our knowledge but also helps us to think creatively and understand the world better.
In my school, Reading Week is marked with different activities like story reading, quiz competitions, and reading corners. We also get opportunities to share our favorite stories and books with friends. These activities make reading more fun and enjoyable, and they encourage everyone to spend more time with books instead of mobile phones or games.
I believe Reading Week is very meaningful because it reminds us that reading is the key to learning. As a student, I feel proud to take part in such programs because they help me improve my language, vocabulary, and imagination. Reading Week inspires us to become lifelong readers and responsible citizens of Bhutan who value education and knowledge.
